Pre-Treatment Instructions

Please do not hesitate to call if you have any last minute questions. We can be reached at 866-275-2515 during regular business hours.

Upon scheduling your procedure, your medications are to be sent to the preferred pharmacy you indicated in your initial paperwork. For your convenience, please have them filled prior to your scheduled treatment. Please bring your filled prescriptions with you to your appointment. If you are having trouble getting your prescriptions, please call 317-343-4331.

If you are taking a blood thinner, remember to discontinue them as directed by your physician. If you take antibiotic premed, please take it as directed before your treatment. Do take your regularly prescribed medications. Please remember with IV sedation, DO NOT eat or drink six (6) hours prior to your procedure, you may drink water. We keep the office cool, so dress warmly. You may bring your iPod or MP3 player with you if you like.

In order to evaluate your progress and healing, we will see you for we will see you for a post-operative check sometime in the first 1-3 weeks following surgery. In many cases, we will also look forward to seeing you back for a periodontal maintenance cleaning and an examination of tissue maturation about 10-12 weeks following the treatment.

IV Sedation

If intravenous sedation is required for your procedure, you must have a ride to and from the office. Please download and print out the instructions below.

Sedatives

If you elect to use one of the following oral sedatives you must have a ride to and from the office. Please bring your remaining tablets with you.

  • Ativan (Lorazepam)
  • Valium (Diazepam)
  • Triazalam (Halcion)

Antibiotics

Please alert the office to any allergies or sensitivities that you might have to antibiotics. Take these medications as directed until gone. For women taking birth control pills, be advised that antibiotics may interfere with their effectiveness.

Food Suggestions

When preparing a post-op menu, please consider some of the following choices:

Jell-O, Bananas, Yogurt, Pasta, Milk Shakes, Casseroles, Eggs, Fish, Cottage Cheese, Ensure/Slim Fast, Soups, Pudding, Rice, Apple Sauce, Oatmeal, Macaroni & Cheese, Mashed Potatoes
